It looks like Kirby developer HAL Laboratory is stepping into the realm of smart device gaming! The company posted this tweet earlier:
"Our company is currently developing a new character game app for smartphones, the first game is planned for release this Fall. Also, for our smartphone projects, we've started up a new brand "HAL Egg". Recently, HAL Laboratory have been developing new and different content. Please look forward to further information!"
Thanks to Pop and Sky Yoshi for the translation!
Smart device games from HAL will be branded under "HAL Egg," and their first game will release sometime this fall starring a brand new character. That's all we know for now, but we'll be sure to update you further when more information is released!
With mobile titles being a new inclusion under HAL's arsenal, it's possible we might see Kirby on smartphones sooner than later. Nintendo themselves have been adamant about mobile gaming in recent years, so it wouldn't feel out of place either. What are your thoughts on HAL developing mobile titles, and what do you think this means for Kirby? We'd love to hear your comments below!
